Alliance Annual Meeting Held in Irving,TX

The Alliance for Affordable Services welcomed members to the annual meeting held at the Four Seasons Resort in Irving, Texas on Friday, October 18, 2013.

This event included the election of the board of directors and a review of Alliance accomplishments over the past year. They included the launch of Alliance on Twitter, “@AffordableSvcs,” where there are now approximately 7,000 followers.

Among Alliance members in attendance was the Derrick Brown family, including their daughter Courtney, a two-time Alliance scholarship recipient. Courtney is studying at Tarleton State University and majoring in Biomedical Science, with a pre-veterinarian emphasis.

Supporting higher education remains a top priority for Alliance. The association has awarded scholarships to over 1,600 deserving students in the past seventeen years. With the recent introduction of the Career Education Grant Program, over 50 additional members have received $1,000 grants to assist with tuition for their attendance at a two-year trade or technical school.
