Alliance Legislative Victory: Key Member Priorities Included in “Jobs” Bill

Alliance has achieved a significant legislative victory with the recent passage of the “jobs” bill, (H.R. 2847) . The final version of the bill included a net-operating loss carryback for five years for small businesses and a payroll tax holiday for hiring unemployed workers. In a December 2009 survey, members ranked these two provisions as key priorities, and Alliance was instrumental in advocating for their inclusion.

The bill was approved by Congress on March 17, 2010 and was signed into law by President Obama on March 18.
